History: Released in March of 2003, the Xserve (Slot Load) was a minor speed bump to the original Xserve . In addition to a faster processor and memory bus, a slot-loading optical drive was added. The single-processor model cost $2,799 U.S., and the double-processor was $3,799 U.S.
